MSN-HTR3D Fusion FISH Probe
The MSN-HTR3D Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MSN and HTR3D genes. The fusion of the MSN and HTR3D genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MSN Gene Summary
Moesin (for membrane-organizing extension spike protein) is a member of the ERM family which includes ezrin and radixin. ERM proteins appear to function as cross-linkers between plasma membranes and actin-based cytoskeletons. Moesin is localized to filopodia and other membranous protrusions that are important for cell-cell recognition and signaling and for cell movement. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Moesin
Chromosome: CHRX: 64887510 -64961793
Locus: Xq12
HTR3D Gene Summary
The protein encoded this gene belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel receptor superfamily. This gene encodes subunit D of the type 3 receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a mitogen and a hormone. This hormone has been linked to neuropsychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, and migraine. Serotonin receptors causes fast and depolarizing responses in neurons following activation. The genes encoding subunits C, D and E of this type 3 receptor form a cluster on chromosome 3. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: 5-hydroxytryptamine Receptor 3D
Chromosome: CHR3: 183749331 -183757157
Locus: 3q27.1
