MSI2-BRD7 Fusion FISH Probe
The MSI2-BRD7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MSI2 and BRD7 genes. The fusion of the MSI2 and BRD7 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

BRD7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein which is a member of the bromodomain-containing protein family. The product of this gene has been identified as a component of one form of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, and as a protein which interacts with p53 and is required for p53-dependent oncogene-induced senescence which prevents tumor growth. Pseudogenes have been described on chromosomes 2, 3, 6, 13 and 14. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Bromodomain Containing 7
Chromosome: CHR16: 50352928 -50402845
Locus: 16q12.1
MSI2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an RNA-binding protein that is a member of the Musashi protein family. The encoded protein is transcriptional regulator that targets genes involved in development and cell cycle regulation. Mutations in this gene are associated with poor prognosis in certain types of cancers. This gene has also been shown to be rearranged in certain cancer cells. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
Gene Name: Musashi RNA Binding Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 55333930 -55757299
Locus: 17q22
