MPDZ-ITPK1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MPDZ-ITPK1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MPDZ and ITPK1 genes. The fusion of the MPDZ and ITPK1 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ITPK1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an enzyme that belongs to the inositol 1,3,4-trisphosphate 5/6-kinase family. This enzyme regulates the synthesis of inositol tetraphosphate, and downstream products, inositol pentakisphosphate and inositol hexakisphosphate. Inositol metabolism plays a role in the development of the neural tube. Disruptions in this gene are thought to be associated with neural tube defects. A pseudogene of this gene has been identified on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Name: Inositol-tetrakisphosphate 1-kinase
Chromosome: CHR14: 93403258 -93582263
Locus: 14q32.12
MPDZ Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene has multiple PDZ domains, which are hallmarks of protein-protein interactions. The encoded protein is known to interact with the HTR2C receptor and may cause it to clump at the cell surface. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]
Gene Name: Multiple PDZ Domain Crumbs Cell Polarity Complex Component
Chromosome: CHR9: 13105702 -13250365
Locus: 9p23
