MPDU1-DNAH9 Fusion FISH Probe
The MPDU1-DNAH9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MPDU1 and DNAH9 genes. The fusion of the MPDU1 and DNAH9 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DNAH9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes the heavy chain subunit of axonemal dynein, a large multi-subunit molecular motor. Axonemal dynein attaches to microtubules and hydrolyzes ATP to mediate the movement of cilia and flagella. The gene expresses at least two transcript variants; additional variants have been described, but their full length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Dynein Axonemal Heavy Chain 9
Chromosome: CHR17: 11501747 -11873065
Locus: 17p12
MPDU1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein that is required for utilization of the mannose donor mannose-P-dolichol in the synthesis of lipid-linked oligosaccharides and glycosylphosphatidylinositols. Mutations in this gene result in congenital disorder of glycosylation type If. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Gene Name: Mannose-P-dolichol Utilization Defect 1
Chromosome: CHR17: 7486964 -7491527
Locus: 17p13.1
