MMD-C20ORF112 Fusion FISH Probe
The MMD-C20ORF112 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MMD and C20ORF112 genes. The fusion of the MMD and C20ORF112 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MMD Gene Summary
This protein is expressed by in vitro differentiated macrophages but not freshly isolated monocytes. Although sequence analysis identifies seven potential transmembrane domains, this protein has little homology to G-protein receptors and it has not been positively identified as a receptor. A suggested alternative function is that of an ion channel protein in maturing macrophages. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
