MGMT-DOCK1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MGMT-DOCK1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MGMT and DOCK1 genes. The fusion of the MGMT and DOCK1 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DOCK1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the dedicator of cytokinesis protein family. Dedicator of cytokinesis proteins act as guanine nucleotide exchange factors for small Rho family G proteins. The encoded protein regulates the small GTPase Rac, thereby influencing several biological processes, including phagocytosis and cell migration. Overexpression of this gene has also been associated with certain cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
Gene Name: Dedicator Of Cytokinesis 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 128594022 -129250780
Locus: 10q26.2
MGMT Gene Summary
Alkylating agents are potent carcinogens that can result in cell death, mutation and cancer. The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA repair protein that is involved in cellular defense against mutagenesis and toxicity from alkylating agents. The protein catalyzes transfer of methyl groups from O(6)-alkylguanine and other methylated moieties of the DNA to its own molecule, which repairs the toxic lesions. Methylation of the genes promoter has been associated with several cancer types, including colorectal cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma and glioblastoma. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Gene Name: O-6-methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase
Chromosome: CHR10: 131265453 -131565783
Locus: 10q26.3
