MED15-PI4KA Fusion FISH Probe
The MED15-PI4KA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MED15 and PI4KA genes. The fusion of the MED15 and PI4KA genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PI4KA Gene Summary
This gene encodes a phosphatidylinositol (PI) 4-kinase which catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. The mammalian PI 4-kinases have been classified into two types, II and III, based on their molecular mass, and modulation by detergent and adenosine. The protein encoded by this gene is a type III enzyme that is not inhibited by adenosine. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase Alpha
Chromosome: CHR22: 21061978 -21213070
Locus: 22q11.21
MED15 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the multiprotein complexes PC2 and ARC/DRIP and may function as a transcriptional coactivator in RNA polymerase II transcription. This gene contains stretches of trinucleotide repeats and is located in the chromosome 22 region which is deleted in DiGeorge syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
Gene Name: Mediator Complex Subunit 15
Chromosome: CHR22: 20861885 -20941919
Locus: 22q11.21
