MED13L-TAOK3 Fusion FISH Probe
The MED13L-TAOK3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MED13L and TAOK3 genes. The fusion of the MED13L and TAOK3 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, and Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MED13L Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the Mediator complex, a large complex of proteins that functions as a transcriptional coactivator for most RNA polymerase II-transcribed genes. The encoded protein is involved in early development of the heart and brain. Defects in this gene are a cause of transposition of the great arteries, dextro-looped (DTGA).[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Mediator Complex Subunit 13 Like
Chromosome: CHR12: 116396380 -116714991
Locus: 12q24.21
TAOK3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine protein kinase that activates the p38/MAPK14 stress-activated MAPK cascade but inhibits the basal activity of the MAPK8/JNK cascade. The encoded protein is a member of the GCK subfamily of STE20-like kinases. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
Gene Name: TAO Kinase 3
Chromosome: CHR12: 118587605 -118810750
Locus: 12q24.23
