MED13L-HRK Fusion FISH Probe
The MED13L-HRK Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MED13L and HRK genes. The fusion of the MED13L and HRK genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HRK Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the BCL-2 protein family. Members of this family are involved in activating or inhibiting apoptosis. The encoded protein localizes to intracellular membranes. This protein promotes apoptosis by interacting with the apoptotic inhibitors BCL-2 and BCL-X(L) via its BH3 domain. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: Harakiri, BCL2 Interacting Protein
Chromosome: CHR12: 117299026 -117319232
Locus: 12q24.22
MED13L Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the Mediator complex, a large complex of proteins that functions as a transcriptional coactivator for most RNA polymerase II-transcribed genes. The encoded protein is involved in early development of the heart and brain. Defects in this gene are a cause of transposition of the great arteries, dextro-looped (DTGA).[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Mediator Complex Subunit 13 Like
Chromosome: CHR12: 116396380 -116714991
Locus: 12q24.21
