MED10-MCCC1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MED10-MCCC1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MED10 and MCCC1 genes. The fusion of the MED10 and MCCC1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MCCC1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes the large subunit of 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase. This enzyme functions as a heterodimer and catalyzes the carboxylation of 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA to form 3-methylglutaconyl-CoA. Mutations in this gene are associated with 3-Methylcrotonylglycinuria, an autosomal recessive disorder of leucine catabolism. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Methylcrotonoyl-CoA Carboxylase 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 182733005 -182817365
Locus: 3q27.1
MED10 Gene Summary
MED10 is a component of the Mediator complex, which is a coactivator for DNA-binding factors that activate transcription via RNA polymerase II (Sato et al., 2003 [PubMed 12584197]).[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2008]
Gene Name: Mediator Complex Subunit 10
Chromosome: CHR5: 6372038 -6378639
Locus: 5p15.31
