MARS-MSRB3 Fusion FISH Probe
The MARS-MSRB3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MARS and MSRB3 genes. The fusion of the MARS and MSRB3 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MARS Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the class I family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. These enzymes play a critical role in protein biosynthesis by charging tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. The encoded protein is a component of the multi-tRNA synthetase complex and catalyzes the ligation of methionine to tRNA molecules. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
Gene Name: Methionyl-tRNA Synthetase
Chromosome: CHR12: 57881735 -57910438
Locus: 12q13.3
MSRB3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the reduction of methionine sulfoxide to methionine. This enzyme acts as a monomer and requires zinc as a cofactor. Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. One of the isoforms localizes to mitochondria while the other localizes to endoplasmic reticula. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Methionine Sulfoxide Reductase B3
Chromosome: CHR12: 65672422 -65860687
Locus: 12q14.3
