MARK3-BAG5 Fusion FISH Probe
The MARK3-BAG5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MARK3 and BAG5 genes. The fusion of the MARK3 and BAG5 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MARK3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is activated by phosphorylation and in turn is involved in the phosphorylation of tau proteins MAP2 and MAP4. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Microtubule Affinity Regulating Kinase 3
Chromosome: CHR14: 103851700 -103970166
Locus: 14q32.32-q32.33
BAG5 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the BAG1-related protein family. BAG1 is an anti-apoptotic protein that functions through interactions with a variety of cell apoptosis and growth related proteins including BCL-2, Raf-protein kinase, steroid hormone receptors, growth factor receptors and members of the heat shock protein 70 kDa family. This protein contains a BAG domain near the C-terminus, which could bind and inhibit the chaperone activity of Hsc70/Hsp70. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: BCL2 Associated Athanogene 5
Chromosome: CHR14: 104022880 -104029151
Locus: 14q32.33
