MARK2-BUB1B Fusion FISH Probe
The MARK2-BUB1B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MARK2 and BUB1B genes. The fusion of the MARK2 and BUB1B genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

BUB1B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a kinase involved in spindle checkpoint function. The protein has been localized to the kinetochore and plays a role in the inhibition of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), delaying the onset of anaphase and ensuring proper chromosome segregation. Impaired spindle checkpoint function has been found in many forms of cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: BUB1 Mitotic Checkpoint Serine/threonine Kinase B
Chromosome: CHR15: 40453209 -40513337
Locus: 15q15.1
MARK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Par-1 family of serine/threonine protein kinases. The protein is an important regulator of cell polarity in epithelial and neuronal cells, and also controls the stability of microtubules through phosphorylation and inactivation of several microtubule-associating proteins. The protein localizes to cell membranes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]
Gene Name: Microtubule Affinity Regulating Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR11: 63606399 -63678492
Locus: 11q13.1
