MAPK6-USO1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MAPK6-USO1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MAPK6 and USO1 genes. The fusion of the MAPK6 and USO1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MAPK6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, and is most closely related to mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAP kinases). MAP kinases also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), are activated through protein phosphorylation cascades and act as integration points for multiple biochemical signals. This kinase is localized in the nucleus, and has been reported to be activated in fibroblasts upon treatment with serum or phorbol esters. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase 6
Chromosome: CHR15: 52311410 -52358462
Locus: 15q21.2
USO1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a peripheral membrane protein which recycles between the cytosol and the Golgi apparatus during interphase. It is regulated by phosphorylation: dephosphorylated protein associates with the Golgi membrane and dissociates from the membrane upon phosphorylation. Ras-associated protein 1 recruits this protein to coat protein complex II (COPII) vesicles during budding from the endoplasmic reticulum, where it interacts with a set of COPII vesicle-associated SNAREs to form a cis-SNARE complex that promotes targeting to the Golgi apparatus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]
Gene Name: USO1 Vesicle Transport Factor
Chromosome: CHR4: 76649828 -76735366
Locus: 4q21.1
