MAPK6-SCAMP2 Fusion FISH Probe
The MAPK6-SCAMP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MAPK6 and SCAMP2 genes. The fusion of the MAPK6 and SCAMP2 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MAPK6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, and is most closely related to mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAP kinases). MAP kinases also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), are activated through protein phosphorylation cascades and act as integration points for multiple biochemical signals. This kinase is localized in the nucleus, and has been reported to be activated in fibroblasts upon treatment with serum or phorbol esters. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase 6
Chromosome: CHR15: 52311410 -52358462
Locus: 15q21.2
SCAMP2 Gene Summary
This gene product belongs to the SCAMP family of proteins which are secretory carrier membrane proteins. They function as carriers to the cell surface in post-golgi recycling pathways. Different family members are highly related products of distinct genes, and are usually expressed together. These findings suggest that the SCAMPs may function at the same site during vesicular transport rather than in separate pathways. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]
Gene Name: Secretory Carrier Membrane Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR15: 75137196 -75165670
Locus: 15q24.1
