MAP3K6-KLK3 Fusion FISH Probe
The MAP3K6-KLK3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MAP3K6 and KLK3 genes. The fusion of the MAP3K6 and KLK3 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

KLK3 Gene Summary
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Its protein product is a protease present in seminal plasma. It is thought to function normally in the liquefaction of seminal coagulum, presumably by hydrolysis of the high molecular mass seminal vesicle protein. Serum level of this protein, called PSA in the clinical setting, is useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of prostatic carcinoma. Alternate splicing of this gene generates several transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Kallikrein Related Peptidase 3
Chromosome: CHR19: 51358170 -51364020
Locus: 19q13.33
MAP3K6 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase that forms a component of protein kinase-mediated signal transduction cascades. The encoded kinase participates in the regulation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 6
Chromosome: CHR1: 27681669 -27693337
Locus: 1p36.11
