MAP3K10-ALDH16A1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MAP3K10-ALDH16A1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MAP3K10 and ALDH16A1 genes. The fusion of the MAP3K10 and ALDH16A1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MAP3K10 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serine/threonine kinase family. This kinase has been shown to activate MAPK8/JNK and MKK4/SEK1, and this kinase itself can be phoshorylated, and thus activated by JNK kinases. This kinase functions preferentially on the JNK signaling pathway, and is reported to be involved in nerve growth factor (NGF) induced neuronal apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 10
Chromosome: CHR19: 40697650 -40721482
Locus: 19q13.2
ALDH16A1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily. The family members act on aldehyde substrates and use nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) as a cofactor. This gene is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, and zebrafish. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with maspardin, a protein that when truncated is responsible for Mast syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Gene Name: Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 16 Family Member A1
Chromosome: CHR19: 49956472 -49974305
Locus: 19q13.33
