MAEA-CTBP1 Fusion FISH Probe

The MAEA-CTBP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MAEA and CTBP1 genes. The fusion of the MAEA and CTBP1 genes has been associated with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

CTBP1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein that binds to the C-terminus of adenovirus E1A proteins. This phosphoprotein is a transcriptional repressor and may play a role during cellular proliferation. This protein and the product of a second closely related gene, CTBP2, can dimerize. Both proteins can also interact with a polycomb group protein complex which participates in regulation of gene expression during development. Alternative splicing of transcripts from this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: C-terminal Binding Protein 1

Chromosome: CHR4: 1205227 -1242908

Locus: 4p16.3

MAEA Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein that mediates the attachment of erythroblasts to macrophages. This attachment promotes terminal maturation and enucleation of erythroblasts, presumably by suppressing apoptosis. The encoded protein is an integral membrane protein with the N-terminus on the extracellular side and the C-terminus on the cytoplasmic side of the cell. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Gene Name: Macrophage Erythroblast Attacher

Chromosome: CHR4: 1283671 -1333925

Locus: 4p16.3
