LYSMD2-SCG3 Fusion FISH Probe
The LYSMD2-SCG3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LYSMD2 and SCG3 genes. The fusion of the LYSMD2 and SCG3 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. Granins may serve as precursors for biologically active peptides. Some granins have been shown to function as helper proteins in sorting and proteolytic processing of prohormones; however, the function of this protein is unknown.
