LUZP1-SORL1 Fusion FISH Probe
The LUZP1-SORL1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LUZP1 and SORL1 genes. The fusion of the LUZP1 and SORL1 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

SORL1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a mosaic protein that belongs to at least two families: the vacuolar protein sorting 10 (VPS10) domain-containing receptor family, and the low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) family. The encoded protein also contains fibronectin type III repeats and an epidermal growth factor repeat. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature receptor, which likely plays roles in endocytosis and sorting. Mutations in this gene may be associated with Alzheimer's disease. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Gene Name: Sortilin Related Receptor 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 121322911 -121504471
Locus: 11q24.1
LUZP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that contains a leucine zipper motif. The exact function of the encoded protein is not known. In mice this gene affects neural tube closure. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Gene Name: Leucine Zipper Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 23410515 -23495351
Locus: 1p36.12
