LUC7L3-CEP250 Fusion FISH Probe
The LUC7L3-CEP250 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LUC7L3 and CEP250 genes. The fusion of the LUC7L3 and CEP250 genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CEP250 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a core centrosomal protein required for centriole-centriole cohesion during interphase of the cell cycle. The encoded protein dissociates from the centrosomes when parental centrioles separate at the beginning of mitosis. The protein associates with and is phosphorylated by NIMA-related kinase 2, which is also associated with the centrosome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: Centrosomal Protein 250
Chromosome: CHR20: 34043222 -34099803
Locus: 20q11.22
LUC7L3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein with an N-terminal half that contains cysteine/histidine motifs and leucine zipper-like repeats, and the C-terminal half is rich in arginine and glutamate residues (RE domain) and arginine and serine residues (RS domain). This protein localizes with a speckled pattern in the nucleus, and could be involved in the formation of splicesome via the RE and RS domains. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2009]
Gene Name: LUC7 Like 3 Pre-mRNA Splicing Factor
Chromosome: CHR17: 48796925 -48830072
Locus: 17q21.33
