LUC7L3-ABCC3 Fusion FISH Probe

The LUC7L3-ABCC3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LUC7L3 and ABCC3 genes. The fusion of the LUC7L3 and ABCC3 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ABCC3 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MRP subfamily which is involved in multi-drug resistance. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined; however, this protein may play a role in the transport of biliary and intestinal excretion of organic anions. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, not all variants have been fully characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: ATP Binding Cassette Subfamily C Member 3

Chromosome: CHR17: 48712217 -48769063

Locus: 17q21.33

LUC7L3 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein with an N-terminal half that contains cysteine/histidine motifs and leucine zipper-like repeats, and the C-terminal half is rich in arginine and glutamate residues (RE domain) and arginine and serine residues (RS domain). This protein localizes with a speckled pattern in the nucleus, and could be involved in the formation of splicesome via the RE and RS domains. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2009]

Gene Name: LUC7 Like 3 Pre-mRNA Splicing Factor

Chromosome: CHR17: 48796925 -48830072

Locus: 17q21.33
