LSP1-SYT8 Fusion FISH Probe
The LSP1-SYT8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LSP1 and SYT8 genes. The fusion of the LSP1 and SYT8 genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma, and Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SYT8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the synaptotagmin protein family. Synaptotagmins are membrane proteins that are important in neurotransmission and hormone secretion, both of which involve regulated exocytosis. Expression of the encoded protein in human pancreatic islets has been connected to activity of the promoter for the insulin gene, on the same chromosome several hundred kilobases away (PMID: 21336277 and 22928559).
