LSM14A-TMTC2 Fusion FISH Probe
The LSM14A-TMTC2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LSM14A and TMTC2 genes. The fusion of the LSM14A and TMTC2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

LSM14A Gene Summary
Sm-like proteins were identified in a variety of organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family (see SNRPD2; 601061). Sm-like proteins contain the Sm sequence motif, which consists of 2 regions separated by a linker of variable length that folds as a loop. The Sm-like proteins are thought to form a stable heteromer present in tri-snRNP particles, which are important for pre-mRNA splicing.[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: LSM14A, MRNA Processing Body Assembly Factor

TMTC2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein localized to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The encoded protein contains many tetratricopeptide repeats, sequences known for being involved in protein-protein interactions. This protein binds both the calcium uptake pump SERCA2B and the carbohydrate-binding chaperone calnexin, and it appears to play a role in calcium homeostasis in the ER. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
