LPCAT1-SDHA Fusion FISH Probe

The LPCAT1-SDHA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the LPCAT1 and SDHA genes. The fusion of the LPCAT1 and SDHA genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

SDHA Gene Summary

This gene encodes a major catalytic subunit of succinate-ubiquinone oxidoreductase, a complex of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. The complex is composed of four nuclear-encoded subunits and is localized in the mitochondrial inner membrane. Mutations in this gene have been associated with a form of mitochondrial respiratory chain deficiency known as Leigh Syndrome. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 3q29. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]

Gene Name: Succinate Dehydrogenase Complex Flavoprotein Subunit A

Chromosome: CHR5: 218355 -256814

Locus: 5p15.33

LPCAT1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase family of proteins. The encoded enzyme plays a role in phospholipid metabolism, specifically in the conversion of lysophosphatidylcholine to phosphatidylcholine in the presence of acyl-CoA. This process is important in the synthesis of lung surfactant and platelet-activating factor (PAF). Elevated expression of this gene may contribute to the progression of oral squamous cell, prostate, breast, and other human cancers. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]

Gene Name: Lysophosphatidylcholine Acyltransferase 1

Chromosome: CHR5: 1461541 -1524076

Locus: 5p15.33
