KRT19-CTNND1 Fusion FISH Probe
The KRT19-CTNND1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KRT19 and CTNND1 genes. The fusion of the KRT19 and CTNND1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

CTNND1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Armadillo protein family, which function in adhesion between cells and signal transduction. Multiple translation initiation codons and alternative splicing result in many different isoforms being translated. Not all of the full-length natures of the described transcript variants have been determined. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream thioredoxin-related transmembrane protein 2 (TMX2) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Name: Catenin Delta 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 57529233 -57586652
Locus: 11q12.1
KRT19 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. Unlike its related family members, this smallest known acidic cytokeratin is not paired with a basic cytokeratin in epithelial cells. It is specifically expressed in the periderm, the transiently superficial layer that envelopes the developing epidermis. The type I cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Keratin 19
Chromosome: CHR17: 39679868 -39684641
Locus: 17q21.2
