KRT15-PTN Fusion FISH Probe

The KRT15-PTN Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KRT15 and PTN genes. The fusion of the KRT15 and PTN genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

KRT15 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. Most of the type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains and are clustered in a region on chromosome 17q21.2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Keratin 15

Chromosome: CHR17: 39669996 -39675270

Locus: 17q21.2

PTN Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a secreted heparin-binding growth factor. The protein has significant roles in cell growth and survival, cell migration, angiogenesis and tumorigenesis. Alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]

Gene Name: Pleiotrophin

Chromosome: CHR7: 136912091 -137028546

Locus: 7q33
