KRT14-DSP Fusion FISH Probe
The KRT14-DSP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KRT14 and DSP genes. The fusion of the KRT14 and DSP genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

DSP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that anchors intermediate filaments to desmosomal plaques and forms an obligate component of functional desmosomes. Mutations in this gene are the cause of several cardiomyopathies and keratodermas, including skin fragility-woolly hair syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Gene Name: Desmoplakin
Chromosome: CHR6: 7541869 -7586946
Locus: 6p24.3
KRT14 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the keratin family, the most diverse group of intermediate filaments. This gene product, a type I keratin, is usually found as a heterotetramer with two keratin 5 molecules, a type II keratin. Together they form the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Mutations in the genes for these keratins are associated with epidermolysis bullosa simplex. At least one pseudogene has been identified at 17p12-p11. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Keratin 14
Chromosome: CHR17: 39738530 -39743147
Locus: 17q21.2
