KITLG-CCDC6 Fusion FISH Probe
The KITLG-CCDC6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KITLG and CCDC6 genes. The fusion of the KITLG and CCDC6 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

KITLG Gene Summary
This gene encodes the ligand of the tyrosine-kinase receptor encoded by the KIT locus. This ligand is a pleiotropic factor that acts in utero in germ cell and neural cell development, and hematopoiesis, all believed to reflect a role in cell migration. In adults, it functions pleiotropically, while mostly noted for its continued requirement in hematopoiesis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: KIT Ligand
Chromosome: CHR12: 88886569 -88974250
Locus: 12q21.32
CCDC6 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a coiled-coil domain-containing protein. The encoded protein is ubiquitously expressed and may function as a tumor suppressor. A chromosomal rearrangement resulting in the expression of a fusion gene containing a portion of this gene and the intracellular kinase-encoding domain of the ret proto-oncogene is the cause of thyroid papillary carcinoma.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Gene Name: Coiled-coil Domain Containing 6
