KIF11-STAT4 Fusion FISH Probe
The KIF11-STAT4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KIF11 and STAT4 genes. The fusion of the KIF11 and STAT4 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

KIF11 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a motor protein that belongs to the kinesin-like protein family. Members of this protein family are known to be involved in various kinds of spindle dynamics. The function of this gene product includes chromosome positioning, centrosome separation and establishing a bipolar spindle during cell mitosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Kinesin Family Member 11
Chromosome: CHR10: 94352824 -94415152
Locus: 10q23.33
STAT4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein is essential for mediating responses to IL12 in lymphocytes, and regulating the differentiation of T helper cells. Mutations in this gene may be associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 4
Chromosome: CHR2: 191894301 -192016322
