KDM5A-NINJ2 Fusion FISH Probe
The KDM5A-NINJ2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KDM5A and NINJ2 genes. The fusion of the KDM5A and NINJ2 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma, and Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NINJ2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ninjurin (for nerve injury induced) family. It is a cell surface adhesion protein that is upregulated in Schwann cells surrounding the distal segment of injured nerve, and promotes neurite outgrowth, thus may have a role in nerve regeneration after nerve injury. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Ninjurin 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 673461 -772755
Locus: 12p13.33
KDM5A Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Jumonji, AT-rich interactive domain 1 (JARID1) histone demethylase protein family. The encoded protein plays a role in gene regulation through the histone code by specifically demethylating lysine 4 of histone H3. The encoded protein interacts with many other proteins, including retinoblastoma protein, and is implicated in the transcriptional regulation of Hox genes and cytokines. This gene may play a role in tumor progression. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Gene Name: Lysine Demethylase 5A
Chromosome: CHR12: 389222 -498620
Locus: 12p13.33
