KCNN1-GATA6 Fusion FISH Probe
The KCNN1-GATA6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KCNN1 and GATA6 genes. The fusion of the KCNN1 and GATA6 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GATA6 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of a small family of zinc finger transcription factors that play an important role in the regulation of cellular differentiation and organogenesis during vertebrate development. This gene is expressed during early embryogenesis and localizes to endo- and mesodermally derived cells during later embryogenesis and thereby plays an important role in gut, lung, and heart development. Mutations in this gene are associated with several congenital defects. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]
Gene Name: GATA Binding Protein 6
Chromosome: CHR18: 19749415 -19782227
Locus: 18q11.2
KCNN1 Gene Summary
Action potentials in vertebrate neurons are followed by an afterhyperpolarization (AHP) that may persist for several seconds and may have profound consequences for the firing pattern of the neuron. Each component of the AHP is kinetically distinct and is mediated by different calcium-activated potassium channels. The protein encoded by this gene is activated before membrane hyperpolarization and is thought to regulate neuronal excitability by contributing to the slow component of synaptic AHP. The encoded protein is an integral membrane protein that forms a voltage-independent calcium-activated channel with three other calmodulin-binding subunits. This gene is a member of the KCNN family of potassium channel genes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Potassium Calcium-activated Channel Subfamily N Member 1
Chromosome: CHR19: 18062110 -18109930
Locus: 19p13.11
