KCNMA1-HIVEP3 Fusion FISH Probe
The KCNMA1-HIVEP3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KCNMA1 and HIVEP3 genes. The fusion of the KCNMA1 and HIVEP3 genes has been associated with Pheochromocytoma And Paraganglioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

KCNMA1 Gene Summary
MaxiK channels are large conductance, voltage and calcium-sensitive potassium channels which are fundamental to the control of smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. MaxiK channels can be formed by 2 subunits: the pore-forming alpha subunit, which is the product of this gene, and the modulatory beta subunit. Intracellular calcium regulates the physical association between the alpha and beta subunits. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. Gene Name: Potassium Calcium-activated Channel Subfamily M Alpha 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 78629358 -79397577
Locus: 10q22.3
HIVEP3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 enhancer-binding protein family. Members of this protein family contain multiple zinc finger and acid-rich (ZAS) domains and serine-threonine rich regions. This protein acts as a transcription factor and is able to regulate nuclear factor kappaB-mediated transcription by binding the kappaB motif in target genes. This protein also binds the recombination signal sequence that flanks the V, D, and J regions of immunoglobulin and T-cell receptors. Alternate splicing results in both coding and non-coding transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Gene Name: Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type I Enhancer Binding Protein 3
Chromosome: CHR1: 41975683 -42384496
Locus: 1p34.2
