KCNMA1-DOCK1 Fusion FISH Probe
The KCNMA1-DOCK1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KCNMA1 and DOCK1 genes. The fusion of the KCNMA1 and DOCK1 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DOCK1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the dedicator of cytokinesis protein family. Dedicator of cytokinesis proteins act as guanine nucleotide exchange factors for small Rho family G proteins. The encoded protein regulates the small GTPase Rac, thereby influencing several biological processes, including phagocytosis and cell migration. Overexpression of this gene has also been associated with certain cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
Gene Name: Dedicator Of Cytokinesis 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 128594022 -129250780
Locus: 10q26.2
KCNMA1 Gene Summary
MaxiK channels are large conductance, voltage and calcium-sensitive potassium channels which are fundamental to the control of smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. MaxiK channels can be formed by 2 subunits: the pore-forming alpha subunit, which is the product of this gene, and the modulatory beta subunit. Intracellular calcium regulates the physical association between the alpha and beta subunits. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Potassium Calcium-activated Channel Subfamily M Alpha 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 78629358 -79397577
Locus: 10q22.3
