JARID2-SGCZ Fusion FISH Probe
The JARID2-SGCZ Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the JARID2 and SGCZ genes. The fusion of the JARID2 and SGCZ genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

JARID2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a Jumonji- and AT-rich interaction domain (ARID)-domain-containing protein. The encoded protein is a DNA-binding protein that functions as a transcriptional repressor. This protein interacts with the Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) which plays an essential role in regulating gene expression during embryonic development. This protein facilitates the recruitment of the PRC2 complex to target genes. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Mutations in this gene are associated with chronic myeloid malignancies. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]
Gene Name: Jumonji And AT-rich Interaction Domain Containing 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 15246526 -15522253
Locus: 6p22.3
SGCZ Gene Summary
The zeta-sarcoglycan gene measures over 465 kb and localizes to 8p22. This protein is part of the sarcoglycan complex, a group of 6 proteins. The sarcoglycans are all N-glycosylated transmembrane proteins with a short intra-cellular domain, a single transmembrane region and a large extra-cellular domain containing a carboxyl-terminal cluster with several conserved cysteine residues. The sarcoglycan complex is part of the dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex (DGC), which bridges the inner cytoskeleton and the extra-cellular matrix. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
