ITPKC-SPTBN4 Fusion FISH Probe
The ITPKC-SPTBN4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ITPKC and SPTBN4 genes. The fusion of the ITPKC and SPTBN4 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SPTBN4 Gene Summary
Spectrin is an actin crosslinking and molecular scaffold protein that links the plasma membrane to the actin cytoskeleton, and functions in the determination of cell shape, arrangement of transmembrane proteins, and organization of organelles. It is composed of two antiparallel dimers of alpha- and beta- subunits. This gene is one member of a family of beta-spectrin genes. The encoded protein localizes to the nuclear matrix, PML nuclear bodies, and cytoplasmic vesicles. A highly similar gene in the mouse is required for localization of specific membrane proteins in polarized regions of neurons. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Spectrin Beta, Non-erythrocytic 4
Chromosome: CHR19: 40973125 -41082365
Locus: 19q13.2
ITPKC Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate [Ins(1,4,5)P(3)] 3-kinase family of enzymes that catalyze the phosphorylation of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate to 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm and has both nuclear import and nuclear export activity. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene are associated with Kawasaki disease.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Gene Name: Inositol-trisphosphate 3-kinase C
Chromosome: CHR19: 41223007 -41246765
Locus: 19q13.2
