ITPKA-RTF1 Fusion FISH Probe
The ITPKA-RTF1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ITPKA and RTF1 genes. The fusion of the ITPKA and RTF1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ITPKA Gene Summary
Regulates inositol phosphate metabolism by phosphorylation of second messenger inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate to Ins(1,3,4,5)P4. The activity of the inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase is responsible for regulating the levels of a large number of inositol polyphosphates that are important in cellular signaling. Both calcium/calmodulin and protein phosphorylation mechanisms control its activity. It is also a substrate for the cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase, calcium/calmodulin- dependent protein kinase II, and protein kinase C in vitro.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2011]
Gene Name: Inositol-trisphosphate 3-kinase A
Chromosome: CHR15: 41786055 -41795757
Locus: 15q15.1
RTF1 Gene Summary
This locus may represent a gene involved in regulation of transcription elongation and chromatin remodeling, based on studies of similar proteins in other organisms. The encoded protein may bind single-stranded DNA. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Gene Name: RTF1 Homolog, Paf1/RNA Polymerase II Complex Component
Chromosome: CHR15: 41709301 -41775761
Locus: 15q15.1
