ITGB6-CNOT2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ITGB6-CNOT2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ITGB6 and CNOT2 genes. The fusion of the ITGB6 and CNOT2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ITGB6 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the integrin superfamily. Members of this family are adhesion receptors that function in signaling from the extracellular matrix to the cell. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. The encoded protein forms a dimer with an alpha v chain and this heterodimer can bind to ligands like fibronectin and transforming growth factor beta 1. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Integrin Subunit Beta 6
Chromosome: CHR2: 160958232 -161056590
Locus: 2q24.2
CNOT2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a subunit of the multi-component CCR4-NOT complex. The CCR4-NOT complex regulates mRNA synthesis and degradation and is also thought to be involved in mRNA splicing, transport and localization. The encoded protein interacts with histone deacetylases and functions as a repressor of polymerase II transcription. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Name: CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 70636773 -70748773
Locus: 12q15
