ITGB5-HDAC9 Fusion FISH Probe
The ITGB5-HDAC9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ITGB5 and HDAC9 genes. The fusion of the ITGB5 and HDAC9 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ITGB5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a beta subunit of integrin, which can combine with different alpha chains to form a variety of integrin heterodimers. Integrins are integral cell-surface receptors that participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signaling. The alphav beta5 integrin is involved in adhesion to vitronectin. Gene Name: Integrin Subunit Beta 5
Chromosome: CHR3: 124481794 -124606144
Locus: 3q21.2
HDAC9 Gene Summary
Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene has sequence homology to members of the histone deacetylase family. This gene is orthologous to the Xenopus and mouse MITR genes. The MITR protein lacks the histone deacetylase catalytic domain. It represses MEF2 activity through recruitment of multicomponent corepressor complexes that include CtBP and HDACs. This encoded protein may play a role in hematopoiesis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been described for this gene but the full-length nature of some of them has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Histone Deacetylase 9
Chromosome: CHR7: 18126571 -18708466
Locus: 7p21.1
