IPO13-EIF2B3 Fusion FISH Probe
The IPO13-EIF2B3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the IPO13 and EIF2B3 genes. The fusion of the IPO13 and EIF2B3 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

EIF2B3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is one of the subunits of initiation factor eIF2B, which catalyzes the exchange of eukaryotic initiation factor 2-bound GDP for GTP. It has also been found to function as a cofactor of hepatitis C virus internal ribosome entry site-mediated translation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with leukodystrophy with vanishing white matter. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2B Subunit Gamma
Chromosome: CHR1: 45316193 -45452361
Locus: 1p34.1
IPO13 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the importin-beta family of nuclear transport proteins. The encoded protein mediates the import of specific cargo proteins from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and is dependent on the Ras-related nuclear protein-GTPase system. The encoded protein is also involved in nuclear export of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
Gene Name: Importin 13
Chromosome: CHR1: 44412477 -44433694
Locus: 1p34.1
