IP6K1-TRAIP Fusion FISH Probe
The IP6K1-TRAIP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the IP6K1 and TRAIP genes. The fusion of the IP6K1 and TRAIP genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma, and Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

IP6K1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the inositol phosphokinase family. The encoded protein may be responsible for the conversion of inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) to diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate (InsP7/PP-InsP5). It may also convert 1,3,4,5,6-pentakisphosphate (InsP5) to PP-InsP4. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]
Gene Name: Inositol Hexakisphosphate Kinase 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 49761727 -49823973
Locus: 3p21.31
TRAIP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that contains an N-terminal RING finger motif and a putative coiled-coil domain. A similar murine protein interacts with TNFR-associated factor 1 (TRAF1), TNFR-associated factor 2 (TRAF2), and cylindromatosis. The interaction with TRAF2 inhibits TRAF2-mediated nuclear factor kappa-B, subunit 1 activation that is required for cell activation and protection against apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: TRAF Interacting Protein
Chromosome: CHR3: 49866027 -49893992
Locus: 3p21.31
