INTS2-GLIS3 Fusion FISH Probe
The INTS2-GLIS3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the INTS2 and GLIS3 genes. The fusion of the INTS2 and GLIS3 genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

INTS2 Gene Summary
INTS2 is a subunit of the Integrator complex, which associates with the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II large subunit (POLR2A; MIM 180660) and mediates 3-prime end processing of small nuclear RNAs U1 (RNU1; MIM 180680) and U2 (RNU2; MIM 180690) (Baillat et al., 2005 [PubMed 16239144]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Integrator Complex Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 59942727 -60005377
Locus: 17q23.2
GLIS3 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the GLI-similar zinc finger protein family and encodes a nuclear protein with five C2H2-type zinc finger domains. This protein functions as both a repressor and activator of transcription and is specifically involved in the development of pancreatic beta cells, the thyroid, eye, liver and kidney. Mutations in this gene have been associated with neonatal diabetes and congenital hypothyroidism (NDH). Alternatively spliced variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described but the full-length nature of only two have been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: GLIS Family Zinc Finger 3
Chromosome: CHR9: 3824127 -4300035
Locus: 9p24.2
