IGF1R-MAP7 Fusion FISH Probe
The IGF1R-MAP7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the IGF1R and MAP7 genes. The fusion of the IGF1R and MAP7 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

IGF1R Gene Summary
This receptor binds insulin-like growth factor with a high affinity. It has tyrosine kinase activity. The insulin-like growth factor I receptor plays a critical role in transformation events. Cleavage of the precursor generates alpha and beta subunits. It is highly overexpressed in most malignant tissues where it functions as an anti-apoptotic agent by enhancing cell survival. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]
Gene Name: Insulin Like Growth Factor 1 Receptor
Chromosome: CHR15: 99192760 -99507759
Locus: 15q26.3
MAP7 Gene Summary
The product of this gene is a microtubule-associated protein that is predominantly expressed in cells of epithelial origin. Microtubule-associated proteins are thought to be involved in microtubule dynamics, which is essential for cell polarization and differentiation. This protein has been shown to be able to stabilize microtubules, and may serve to modulate microtubule functions. Studies of the related mouse protein also suggested an essential role in microtubule function required for spermatogenesis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]
Gene Name: Microtubule Associated Protein 7
Chromosome: CHR6: 136663418 -136871957
Locus: 6q23.3
