HTR7-VAC14 Fusion FISH Probe
The HTR7-VAC14 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HTR7 and VAC14 genes. The fusion of the HTR7 and VAC14 genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HTR7 Gene Summary
The neurotransmitter, serotonin, is thought to play a role in various cognitive and behavioral functions. The serotonin receptor encoded by this gene belongs to the superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors and the gene is a candidate locus for involvement in autistic disorder and other neuropsychiatric disorders. Three splice variants have been identified which encode proteins that differ in the length of their carboxy terminal ends. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: 5-hydroxytryptamine Receptor 7
Chromosome: CHR10: 92500575 -92617671
Locus: 10q23.31
VAC14 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a scaffold protein that is a component of the PIKfyve protein kinase complex. This complex is responsible for the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate, an important component of cellular membranes, from phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. Mice lacking a functional copy of this gene exhibit severe neurodegeneration. Mutations in the human gene have been identified in patients with a childhood onset progressive neurological disorder characterized by impaired movement, dystonia, and striatal abnormalities. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
Gene Name: Vac14, PIKFYVE Complex Component
Chromosome: CHR16: 70721341 -70835061
Locus: 16q22.1-q22.2
