HSPB1-TYK2 Fusion FISH Probe
The HSPB1-TYK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HSPB1 and TYK2 genes. The fusion of the HSPB1 and TYK2 genes has been associated with Kidney Chromophobe. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HSPB1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the small heat shock protein (HSP20) family of proteins. In response to environmental stress, the encoded protein translocates from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and functions as a molecular chaperone that promotes the correct folding of other proteins. This protein plays an important role in the differentiation of a wide variety of cell types. Expression of this gene is correlated with poor clinical outcome in multiple human cancers, and the encoded protein may promote cancer cell proliferation and metastasis, while protecting cancer cells from apoptosis. Mutations in this gene have been identified in human patients with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and distal hereditary motor neuropathy. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: Heat Shock Protein Family B (small) Member 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 75931874 -75933614
Locus: 7q11.23
TYK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine kinase and, more specifically, the Janus kinases (JAKs) protein families. This protein associates with the cytoplasmic domain of type I and type II cytokine receptors and promulgate cytokine signals by phosphorylating receptor subunits. It is also component of both the type I and type III interferon signaling pathways. As such, it may play a role in anti-viral immunity. A mutation in this gene has been associated with hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES) - a primary immunodeficiency characterized by elevated serum immunoglobulin E. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Tyrosine Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR19: 10461203 -10491248
Locus: 19p13.2
