HSP90B1-SUPT16H Fusion FISH Probe
The HSP90B1-SUPT16H Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HSP90B1 and SUPT16H genes. The fusion of the HSP90B1 and SUPT16H genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HSP90B1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a family of adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-metabolizing molecular chaperones with roles in stabilizing and folding other proteins. The encoded protein is localized to melanosomes and the endoplasmic reticulum. Expression of this protein is associated with a variety of pathogenic states, including tumor formation. There is a microRNA gene located within the 5' exon of this gene. There are pseudogenes for this gene on chromosomes 1 and 15. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]
Gene Name: Heat Shock Protein 90 Beta Family Member 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 104324188 -104341703
Locus: 12q23.3
SUPT16H Gene Summary
Transcription of protein-coding genes can be reconstituted on naked DNA with only the general transcription factors and RNA polymerase II. However, this minimal system cannot transcribe DNA packaged into chromatin, indicating that accessory factors may facilitate access to DNA. One such factor, FACT (facilitates chromatin transcription), interacts specifically with histones H2A/H2B to effect nucleosome disassembly and transcription elongation. FACT is composed of an 80 kDa subunit and a 140 kDa subunit; this gene encodes the 140 kDa subunit. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Gene Name: SPT16 Homolog, Facilitates Chromatin Remodeling Subunit
Chromosome: CHR14: 21819630 -21852425
Locus: 14q11.2
