HS2ST1-SH3GLB1 Fusion FISH Probe
The HS2ST1-SH3GLB1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HS2ST1 and SH3GLB1 genes. The fusion of the HS2ST1 and SH3GLB1 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HS2ST1 Gene Summary
Heparan sulfate biosynthetic enzymes are key components in generating a myriad of distinct heparan sulfate fine structures that carry out multiple biologic activities. This gene encodes a member of the heparan sulfate biosynthetic enzyme family that transfers sulfate to the 2 position of the iduronic acid residue of heparan sulfate. The disruption of this gene resulted in no kidney formation in knockout embryonic mice, indicating that the absence of this enzyme may interfere with the signaling required for kidney formation. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]
Gene Name: Heparan Sulfate 2-O-sulfotransferase 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 87380334 -87575681
Locus: 1p22.3
SH3GLB1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a SRC homology 3 domain-containing protein. The encoded protein interacts with the proapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family, Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax) and may be involved in regulating apoptotic signaling pathways. This protein may also be involved in maintaining mitochondrial morphology. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Gene Name: SH3 Domain Containing GRB2 Like, Endophilin B1
Chromosome: CHR1: 87170252 -87213867
Locus: 1p22.3
