HPS4-CABIN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The HPS4-CABIN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HPS4 and CABIN1 genes. The fusion of the HPS4 and CABIN1 genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CABIN1 Gene Summary
Calcineurin plays an important role in the T-cell receptor-mediated signal transduction pathway. The protein encoded by this gene binds specifically to the activated form of calcineurin and inhibits calcineurin-mediated signal transduction. The encoded protein is found in the nucleus and contains a leucine zipper domain as well as several PEST motifs, sequences which confer targeted degradation to those proteins which contain them. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding two different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
Gene Name: Calcineurin Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR22: 24407764 -24574596
Locus: 22q11.23
HPS4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein component of biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complexes (BLOC). BLOC complexes are important for the formation of endosomal-lysosomal organelles such as melanosomes and platelet dense granules. Mutations in this gene result in subtype 4 of Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome, a form of albinism. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]
Gene Name: HPS4, Biogenesis Of Lysosomal Organelles Complex 3 Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR22: 26847445 -26879820
Locus: 22q12.1
