HPS3-CPB1 Fusion FISH Probe
The HPS3-CPB1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HPS3 and CPB1 genes. The fusion of the HPS3 and CPB1 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CPB1 Gene Summary
Three different procarboxypeptidases A and two different procarboxypeptidases B have been isolated. The B1 and B2 forms differ from each other mainly in isoelectric point. Carboxypeptidase B1 is a highly tissue-specific protein and is a useful serum marker for acute pancreatitis and dysfunction of pancreatic transplants. It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Carboxypeptidase B1
Chromosome: CHR3: 148545587 -148577972
Locus: 3q24
HPS3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein containing a potential clathrin-binding motif, consensus dileucine signals, and tyrosine-based sorting signals for targeting to vesicles of lysosomal lineage. The encoded protein may play a role in organelle biogenesis associated with melanosomes, platelet dense granules, and lysosomes. Mutations in this gene are associated with Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome type 3. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]
Gene Name: HPS3, Biogenesis Of Lysosomal Organelles Complex 2 Subunit 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 148847370 -148891305
Locus: 3q24
