HOXA3-HIBADH Fusion FISH Probe
The HOXA3-HIBADH Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HOXA3 and HIBADH genes. The fusion of the HOXA3 and HIBADH genes has been associated with Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HOXA3 Gene Summary
In vertebrates, the genes encoding the class of transcription factors called homeobox genes are found in clusters named A, B, C, and D on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Homeobox A3
Chromosome: CHR7: 27145808 -27166639
Locus: 7p15.2
HIBADH Gene Summary
This gene encodes a mitochondrial 3-hydroxyisobutyrate dehydrogenase enzyme. The encoded protein plays a critical role in the catabolism of L-valine by catalyzing the oxidation of 3-hydroxyisobutyrate to methylmalonate semialdehyde. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]
Gene Name: 3-hydroxyisobutyrate Dehydrogenase
Chromosome: CHR7: 27565058 -27702620
Locus: 7p15.2
